Ophelia is the sister of Laertes, daughter of Polonius, and past love interest of Hamlet. She is one of the few females in the court, and is rejected by Hamlet. In shock, Ophelia believes that Hamlet is truly insane, and after her father's death she also goes insane and drowns.
